Govtech advisory - crafting best-in-class strategies for civic impact
Public sector leaders need comprehensive blueprints to achieve digital transformations. We guide CIOs/CTOs through the creation and execution of IT strategies to achieve business objectives across government. Our goal is to help leaders craft a vision that inspires teams - and gets fully funded.
Our method involves fostering an innovation-centric culture, facilitating problem-solving, and enhancing staff engagement in IT projects through targeted workshops and capacity-building exercises. We equip public sector technology leaders with the foresight and tools necessary to adapt to technological shifts and position their organizations to be at the forefront of digital service delivery.
An emphasis on data intelligence is crucial for public sector organizations seeking to optimize their decision-making and operational effectiveness. We specialize in establishing robust data governance frameworks and policies, centering on cloud-native architectures and the integrative nature of geospatial technologies, for de-siloed and secure data utilization across government operations - including from ever-expanding IoT networks and smart infrastructure.
Our approach applies the FAIR principle - that enterprise data is findability, accessibility, interoperability, and reusability and ensures facilitation of decision support analytics and public dashboards. By focusing on security-first design and emerging standards for privacy-preserving digital IDs, we help public officials enhance the citizen experience via data-informed delivery of digital services.
For startups and technology firms aiming to better engage the public sector, our GovTech B2G Strategy provides the essential toolkit for success. We understand the unique challenges of aligning solutions and services to the needs of governments.
We offer hands-on assistance in targeting procurement opportunities, project budgeting, drafting RFX responses, and devising communication plans that ensure your message is understood and tailored to the audience (elected officials vs technology practitioners).
Leveraging 25+ years in public sector leadership, procurement, and program delivery, our team rapidly refines your approach, accelerates product-market fit, and aligns your offerings with the public sector’s business objectives.
With 20+ years of IT consulting experience in the public sector, my career began with a vision to solve urban planning challenges through the strategic use of data. I've mastered the art of navigating the hurdles of limited resources and tight budgets to unlock the potential of technology for governments, offering tools that are both accessible and impactful. My dedication led me to pivotal roles, including serving as Philadelphia's Chief Information Officer (CIO), and its first Geographic Information Officer (GIO).
My efforts have been focused on not just introducing, but guiding successful projects that improve, secure, and enable new public services, ensuring technology acts as a steadfast pillar for community development. Most importantly, I believe in enabling communities to explore and decide their technological paths to address local challenges.
As a leader, I bring these rich experiences and values to the private sector, offering unparalleled guidance on engaging effectively with governments. My leadership not only reflects a deep understanding of public sector dynamics, but also a proven track record of building bridges between technology firms and government leaders, ensuring mutual success.
I also perform regularly with The Dinner Detectives, an immersive & improv theater troop in Philadelphia.
